Chedva and David Breau are the proud parents of four girls; Miriam, a graduate of Ben Porat Yosef’s class of 2019 who now attends The Idea School, Ruthie, a 5th grader at BPY, Gabriella, a 5th grader, and Eleor, a 4th grader, who both attend The Shefa School. They chose BPY because of its focus on Sephardic heritage and ivrit b’ivrit, as well as BPY’s philosophy on innovative education.
Both David and Chedva have been dedicated partners to BPY where they both engaged in various leadership and committee opportunities. David was an active Board member for many years, serving as the Board of Directors Secretary, Chair of the Committee on Trustees, as well as a participant of the Legal Committee. Chedva played an integral role in assisting many of the shlichim over the years transition to their new homes by becoming surrogate family to them.
Englewood, New Jersey residents for the past 10 years, they are members of Kehilat Kesher Synagogue. Chedva works in various businesses in the nursing home industry in the Midwest. Chedva chaired the Youth Committee at Kesher Synagogue and is an active board member of the One Family Fund. Chedva was born in Israel. She is a graduate of Touro College where she received her B.A. in Psychology. David is currently employed as Chief Strategy Officer and General Counsel for the fintech startup MayStreet Inc. Prior to this, David was General Counsel of Straight Path Communications, as well as a litigator at Sullivan & Cromwell LLP and Sidley Sutin LLP. David earned his law degree from Duke University where he graduated cum laude, as well as a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering where he graduated with high honors from Johns Hopkins University. David served as a Corporal in an infantry division of the IDF.
